I am just learning of Hugh's passing tonight, as I was verifying the zip code for his Christmas Card. The numbers in my address book were a bit smeared.
We are cousins to Hugh through marriage. My Mother(Carla McCray Jones, who has also passed) and Paula were first cousins. Our families enjoyed many times together while Mary was alive and after her passing, my Mother and Paula visited across country as often as they could. Hugh was extremely loved and his kind ways, quick wit, and story telling will not be forgotten....ever. My condolences to all who loved and cared for him. I wish to extend extra words of gratitude to the Lewis family as Hugh undoubtedly loved you as family! I'm not sure if the Lewis family will see this message, but I'd love to know where I can send a card. I only wish I had known of this in a more timely manor. Very saddened, as this is marking the passing of a wonderful generation that belonged to my Mom, Paula and Hugh. Peace to all and rest easy, Dear Hugh
Sincerely,
Anna Helle
(along with my brother, Andrew Jones and Dad, Al Jones)

Knowing Hugh for a relatively short period of time was a true honor. Anyone who meet Hugh just had to love the conversation. Always fully engaged and very knowledgeable about almost every subject. And his dry wit worked for me as well. His love of Family and adopted Family was unmistakable as got to know all of you very personally from Hugh.
I will sorely miss our chats and the great concern that he had for anything that was not right.
I am comforted that he is with his wife and daughter and will always have very good memories of Hugh we were privileged!
RIP my Friend,

Sad news.......I only really knew Hugh for about nine years in the eighties but I always enjoyed his generous spirit, warm hearted friendship, thoughtful opinions and far reaching wisdom. All of these attributes will be missed. I send my condolences to his U K and adopted family in the States. Rest in Peace dear friend. Peter
