1921 - 2017
Jozo Krile passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2017. A native of Hodilje, Croatia, he was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Verna Krile. He will be forever loved and missed by their children, Steven and Thomas Krile and Katherine Krile (Mark Edwards) and many friends and family.A Vigil Service in memory of Jozo will be held on Friday, January 6, at 6:00 pm at McAvoy O'Hara Company Evergreen Mortuary, 10th Ave at Geary Blvd, S.F. A Funeral Mass will also be offered in remembrance of Jozo on Saturday, January 7, at 11:00 am, at the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 240 Fell Street, San Francisco. His family welcomes all to join them in celebrating his life. Following the mass, a graveside ceremony, with reception to follow, will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jozo's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Jozo was a wonderful help to my parents during a time when he was in better health and they were not. He was not a close friend, but he was a long time acquaintance, and he made himself useful to them in ways that mattered a great deal: he got them out of the house with a drive to the grocery store and to the park. He didn't do it once; he did it many times. I will never forget the kindness he showed them when they felt isolated, and also his bright personality. May he rest in peace.
