Lorraine Kahn Obituary

Lorraine Kahn

(October 23, 1945 – August 10, 2015)

Great wit, warm heart, brilliant mind, insightful loving friend, strong feminist, advocate for social justice and economic freedom, teacher who shared her encyclopedic knowledge and appreciation of film beyond the walls of academia, film maker and screen writer, thinker always ready to tackle a problem –be it personal or political, who loved and was loved by family and friends, a bright light in our midst snuffed out by the slow ravages of breast cancer treatment –15 years after her stage 4 diagnosis…defiant and determined to 'do it my way'. . . and she did!

Funeral services at noon on Sunday August 16 - Hills of Eternity, Colma, CA.

Still miss you Lorraine. The Jazz Festival where you Volunteered every year, just ended last weekend. Another reason to think of you, and miss you again.
Thank you for enhancing my life the too short time you were here.

Lorraine and I were friends from elementary school through college, saw each other once in California, then lost touch. I thought of her and looked her up. I am so sorry to see this news. Condolences to Marilyn and to her family and close friends.

Her humor, her ability to appreciate and show her regard for everyone around her. Thank you, Lorraine, for being with us as long as you did. I miss you deeply.
