Margaret Agius Obituary
A longtime San Francisco resident, and recently of Millbrae and San Mateo County resident for 9 years, entered peacefully into rest at her residence on August 14, 2021 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late John Agius for 60 years. Loving mother of Annie Vella (Reno), the late Frank Agius (the late Monica), Rose Agius Dankwerth (Richard), Pacik Agius (Rita), Jim Agius (Michelle), Maria Bonavia (Edwin), Frances Grech (Charlie), John Agius (Janet), and Reno Agius (the late Crystal). Survived by her brother, Joseph Chetcuti, and her sister, Carmen Muscat. Dearly loved by her 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren (and late great grandson, Kyle), as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A native of Mosta, Malta, Margaret immigrated to San Francisco with her husband and her 9 children in 1964. In addition to caring for her large family, Margaret worked for Macy's for almost 20 years. She was an active member of the Maltese American Social Club in South San Francisco and of Saint Elizabeth Maltese Society of San Francisco.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Saint Dunstan Catholic Church in Millbrae. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
In lieu of flowers, her family prefers donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, or a favorite charity.
