Your legacy lives on - in the lives of those who caught the `hardware ` spark, in family and friends.

I worked at Hardware Unlimited in 1981. Dick was always a kind employer and interested in all his employees well being. We actually enjoyed seeing his arrival for visits to his stores. He drove a whale tail white Porsche which was appropriate for a young, dashing businessman. That said, he was encouraging and interested in anything his employees had to say. Rest in peace.

Just heard this sad news yesterday. Have been going to Hardware Unlimited about once a month for the past 5 years. I remember him greeting everyone, and being very helpful and knowledgeable. The perfect man to run a neighborhood hardware store. He will be greatly missed. ~TD

Sacramento Street Merchants and neighbors will miss you. Everyone has fond stories of talking with you over the years and receiving help at your store. You're a hero for making it in retail through the ups and downs over many years. May peace surround your heart and everyone who loves you. Traci/Sacramento Street Merchants

We've lived in the neighborhood for 20 years and one of my first stops early on was Dick's hardware store. We shared a birthday (well, one day apart) and I'd always drop by to wish him a happy birthday. Sadly, that will no longer be the case. Dock was a fixture in the neighborhood and will be sorely missed.
