Edward Schneiderwent Obituary

Edward L. Schneiderwent

Edward L. Schneiderwent, age 60 of Chilton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 12, 2013 at his home.

He was born on June 14, 1953 in Ladysmith, WI, son of the late Lovern & Mildred (Trantow) Schneiderwent. He married Rosanne H. Kolbe on April 3, 1986 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.

Ed worked for Kohler Company for the past 40 years. He was a proud UAW member and had served as Union Steward for several years. He loved the outdoors, and was a member of the Koenigs Conservation Club, where he was a member of the trap shooting league, and also a hunter safety instructor. He was a member of the Travelers Protection Association, and in his younger years he served as a volunteer fire fighter, and helped to organize the First Responders in Howards Grove. Ed and his wife Rosie played an integral part in serving the deaf of Sheboygan County by their efforts to bring not only awareness, but equipment to aid in hearing to the area schools. He was a member of the Wisconsin Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and had served as president.

Ed enjoyed hunting with his sons, playing cribbage, baking, cooking and especially grilling for the many family gatherings. He liked watching birds, working in his large garden, and he loved dining at the Altona. Ed was one of those handymen who could fix anything, and was often found working and tinkering in the garage, but the two things he was best known for was his sense of humor, and a heart for helping others.

Survivors include his wife Rosie; 7 children, Jennifer Schneiderwent of Sheboygan Falls, Diona Coldren and fiancé Dave Kopetsky of Sheboygan, Carissa Schneiderwent of Sheboygan Falls, Brandon (Jessica) Schneiderwent of Sheboygan Falls, Katrina Schneiderwent and fiancé Brandon Schelk of Howards Grove, Christopher Schneiderwent of Chilton, Ryan Schneiderwent of Chilton; 4 grandchildren, Gina Altendahl of Sheboygan Falls, Cierra and Madisyn Coldren of Sheboygan, Jerry Baskin Jr. of Sheboygan Falls; 3 sisters, Sue (Norm) Peters of Cornell, WI, Judy (Melvin) Bruce of Ladysmith, Marlene (Mike) Nikkila of Ladysmith; 3 brothers, Robert Schneiderwent of Valders, Irv (Karen) Schneiderwent of Ladysmith, Dennis Schneiderwent of Superior; and a brother-in-law, Larry Martin of Sheboygan Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovern & Mildred Schneiderwent; a sister Laurel Lee Martin; and 2 brothers, Wilfred & Barry Schneiderwent.

Funeral services will be held at 7 PM on Thursday October 17, 2013 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Joel Brassfield officiating. Entombment will take place on Friday at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Visitation hours will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 3PM until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Edward Schneiderwent.

It's Addie Jager. He was my Uncle. I loved him very much. One time we where in the WI. Dells and I was in a high chair. I ricked to far, and almost split my head open, but he swooped in and saved me.
