Michelle Kohler Obituary

Michelle M. Kohler

Prineville, OR - Michelle M. Kohler was born October 9, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the middle daughter of Terry J Kohler and Diana Prange Kohler. Michelle attended high school at Colorado Timberline Academy in Durango and obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Michelle had a lifelong love of horses. She rode out of the Grandlic Stables as a youth, and was involved in equestrian activities while at school in Colorado. She lived for many years in Carlsbad, California, where she bred Schutzhund German Shepherds for the military and police. She donated several dogs for bomb sniffing after 9/11. A few years ago she moved to Oregon, to the ranch she had always dreamed of, where she raised her horses and her dogs. Sadly, her time to enjoy her dream was cut short when she passed July 1, 2018 at the age of 57.

Michelle is survived by her three children, Kashon, Lilly, and David Kohler, two Sisters, Danielle and Leslie Kohler, three nieces, two nephews in-law, and one grandnephew. She was predeceased by both her parents.

Visitation will be at Grace Episcopal Church at 7th and Ontario Ave. Sheboygan, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday July 11, 2018. The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at noon with Fr. Karl Schaffenburg officiating.

In lieu of flowers a gift to Grace Church would be much appreciated.

Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Michelle's arrangements.

As my student at Colorado Timberline Academy, I knew your life, however long, would be intensely lived, with great gusto, and with so many memorable moments, not to mention a passion for horses and for all those fortunate enough to enjoy life with you. With a glass raised, here's to an amazing student and human being ! I've frequently thought of you and loved you, Michelle! Your spirit lives on!

I was so saddened to hear about Michelle's passing especially so quickly. I know she was living her dream. My heart goes out to her children and her family. Even back in high school, she was a memorable, remarkable woman who left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met. She will definitely be missed.
