Frank Skinner Obituary

SHELBY - Frank Raymond Skinner II, 75, of Shelby passed away January 5, 2019. He was born November 12, 1943 in South Bend, Indiana, a son of the late Frank Raymond Skinner and Marjorie Kelley Skinner.

Frank earned degrees in engineering from Georgia Tech and UMass. Frank was a self-employed entrepreneur, an inventor at heart, with a focus on robotics engineering and real estate. Frank enjoyed traveling, gardening, painting and spending time at his home on the lake. Frank also loved a good football game and talking about investments.

Survivors of Frank include his daughters, Crissy Skinner-Moxley, and Angie Cherry and husband, Tim; mother of his children, Dr. Skinner; grandchildren, Cole Moxley, Madeline Moxley, Kaylyn Cherry, and Keegan Cherry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Skinner.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epilepsy Foundation of NC, 1920 W 1st St, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

Crissy, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember meeting your dad and sharing popcorn with him while watching movies at your home. He was so kind, offered us dinner and made us call him to make sure we got home safely! You and your family are in my prayers.
