Mrs. Mildred Deal

LAWNDALE - Mrs. Mildred Archie Deal, 73, of 2811 Philadelphia School Road, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Annie Archie and Samuel Edward Beam. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church, where she served in various committees during the years. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant working at Cleveland Regional Medical Center (formerly Cleveland Memorial Hospital) and as a private home duty nurse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Archie; grandmother, Leonia Hamrick; brothers, Roger Beam, Alvin Beam, Alfred Beam and Melvin Beam; and sisters, Shirley Williamson, Ruby Beam and Edith Marie Beam.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband, William Lewis Deal of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Melvina Archie and Marlin Archie, both of Shelby; three great-grandchildren Monti and Monté Archie and Carlton "C.J." Hopper Jr.; three brothers, Ambrose Archie (Ruby) of Goldsboro and Samuel Beam (Dorothy) and Johnny Beam (Geroldine), both of Lawndale; sisters, Mary Geter of Shelby, Doshia H. Parks of Lawndale, Alline Beam and Janice Beam Wimbush, both of Shelby and Barbara Petty of Florida; her daughter-in-law, Marlene Archie of Shelby; two nieces and a nephew whom she helped rear, Tammy Beam, Danielle Beam and Willie Beam, all of Lawndale; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral: Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
