Florience Livigni Obituary

Florence Eleanore Livigni

SHREVEPORT, LA - A memorial mass honoring the life of Florence Eleanore Livigni, age 75, will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 315 Marshall St. in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Monsignor Earl Provenza.

Florence Eleanor (Dee) Livigni passed away peacefully February 26, 2008 at the home of her son, Bill Livigni after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dee was born November 1, 1932 in Barberton, Ohio to John and Margaret Skarl. In 1955 she married the love of her life, Charles Phillip Livigni. During this marriage she was able to travel the world with her husband during their Air Force career. She often said that the happiest times of her life was raising her children and being a strong supporter of their education. She considered education a lifelong journey.

Dee was the supervisor of several cottages at Northwest Louisiana State School from 1978 to 1988 and was proud to be associated with this organization.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, John and her husband, Charles. She is survived by sister Margie Brindle and husband Chris of Barberton, Ohio and Leonard Skarl and wife Joan of Kanoga Falls, Ohio, her four children, William James (Bill) Livigni of Shreveport, LA, James Joseph (Jim) Livigni and wife Lisa of Monroe, LA, Vicki Livigni Duet of Bossier City, LA and Cindy Livigni Hampton of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rachel, Paul, Matthew, Michelle and Andrew Duet of Shreveport, LA, Jennifer Hampton Harper and husband Todd of Marksville, LA, Phillip Ray and Grant James Livigni of Shreveport and Marie Rose and Audrey Eleanore Livigni of Monroe, LA.

The family would like to thank all employees of Schumpert Hospice and especially her kind and compassionate nurse, Chris King, for without the sincere love and devotion the end to this long journey would have been much less bearable. The family would also like to thank Sharon Womack, who became a loyal and intimate friend not only to Florence, but to her entire family.

The family requests that memorials be made to Father Flannigan Boys and Girls Town, or charity of donor's choice.
