Mildred Brooks Boley

SHREVEPORT, LA- Mildred Brooks Boley, 87, passed away February 28, 2012 at the Guest House Nursing Home in Shreveport, LA.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Brother Harry Forester and Brother Chad Hardbarger. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 until 12:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel on Friday.

Mildred was born on June 3, 1924 in Choudrant, LA to Elton and Mary Lou Brooks. She moved with her family at an early age to Greenwood, LA. She graduated from Greenwood High School and Meadows Draughan Business School. Mildred worked for Standard Oil Co. and Placid Oil Company. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred O. Boley; her parents, brother, Wallace Brooks; sisters, Marjorie Rockett and Mary Beth Wright; grandson, Andy Boley. She is survived by her sister, Betty V. Steed; son, Jimmy Boley; granddaughter, D.D. DuBose; great-grandson, Devin and Dawlton Boley; nephews, Louie B. Rockett, Charles E. Steed, Jr., Randy Brooks; niece, Susan Lentz; great-nephews, James, Charles W. and Michael Steed; great-nieces, Shannon and Emily Brooks; several great-great-nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be James Steed, Charles W. Steed, Michael Steed, Michael DuBose, Larry Russell and Rusty Russell.

The family would like to thank Mr. Bihm and his staff for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's choice.
