Martha and Girls
Our every thought is with you in sympathy and prayer. We will forever have a guardian angel to watch over us.
Through the years at St. Matthias and since you and Ken have been very special people in our lives. What a blessing! A wonderful, joyful memory of Fr. Cooper that will forever warm my heart is when he married me and Matt and we celebrated with you, Tim and Helen. As time passes may your memories bring you peace and comfort. May God's peace and love be with you all as you go through this most difficult time.
Yours In Christ,

Martha and the girls,

I was so deeply sorry to learn of Ken's sudden death. He had such an inspiring passion for his vocation, was wonderful pastor and a good friend. I know he loved you all dearly!

During my time in ministry in the diocese he was a constant supporter and a source of encouragement. I will aways remember Ken fondly and smile just like I did every time we saw each other. I am blessed to have known and worked with him. You are all in my prayers.

Martha, Ellen, Claire and extended family members: What a joy and a blessing Father was when he ministered with Father McMichael at St. Matthias, where I was a member and also down in New Iberia when I could visit. I count it a privilege to have spent time in his presence. He truly was Jesus with skin on, a true shepherd of the sheep. Martha, your strength, faith and the grace that you exude and that you have passed on to your lovely daughters will get you through this. My prayer is that our loving Jesus will wrap His arms around all of you and enfold you with peace, love, and comfort during this difficult time. Isn't it wonderful to think of him not only with the Lord but with Father McMichael and so many others who have gone before?

In His Love,

Sue T. Carter

I have such fond memories of working with Ken when I was youth director at St. Paul's - Shreveport in the early 80's. He made all of us laugh - and cry - and be better servants for the Lord. I recall one time having to go to a meeting in Lafayette from Shreveport, and us searching for good "south LA cooking"! What a joy to remember him - it makes me smile to do so. My prayers are with you all.

Being a member of St. Matthias when Fr. Cooper & Martha were there was a very meaningful time in my life. He was very unique and one of the most discerning individuals I have ever known. When he gave me a job to do he let me do it - he could see in me a leadership ability I was unaware of - we worked on many projects together and I will miss my friend. Thank you Martha for your support. God bless your family

Father Cooper was my priest down here in Lafayette. He baptized my daughter 16 years ago. He baptized my son at birth when we didn't think he was going to make it. He then baptized my son several months later at home when my father was too ill to leave the house so that he may be there to see it. He came to visit my father weekly when he was dying and was there to give him his last rites. His gestures meant alot to my family and I was so heartbroken when I heard the news of his passing as were my children. My son said it best...now Father is finally up there with the Man he's been working for for all these years. God Bless Father's family and friends.

I rejoice in knowing that God Himself is Ken’s exceeding and great reward. I will miss my Pastor and friend.

May the risen Lord Jesus bless Martha and keep her. May the Lord make his face to shine upon Ken’s family and be gracious unto them. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon Martha, and give her His peace.
