He was an Honorary Member of the Brother's Keeper's Motorcycle Club. Rex's loves were trains, motorcycles, books & collecting anything he thought was unique. He adored his family & loved having all of them over for cookouts & any other reason he could think of. He loved & lived life to its fullest. His main dream was to travel down Route 66 & go to San Francisco. His family will make sure he makes that dream come true soon. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at CrossPointe Free Will Baptist Church on Williamson Way at 2 PM, with Bro. Ron Parker officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Smith, Dr. Manish Dhawan, the entire staff of Regional Urology Oncology & Radiation Clinic, the doctors of Regional Urology & the staff of nurses of 2 South of Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital for their special care of our husband & father. Although we have never met in person, we have become lifelong friends. Over the past 4 years I've watched and waited for your posts every day, or an email that would brighten my day.
Now, it is my turn to try and put a little sunshine in your life during these "dark days'...
I have seen both you and Rex fight your brave battles against Cancer with surgeries, chemo, etc. By the grace of God you were cured. It was not your time, dear friend. Rex was making such good progress in his battle, enduring many surgeries, and treatment...but when His Keeper was ready, your dear husband was gone too soon. One week he was fighting and strong, and in a very short time the cancer took over his body and he was gone. It was certainly an Act of Love for God to take him so quickly....No more pain, no more cancer, no more side effects of the chemo. He is whole again and making a place for his family to join him when that time comes.
I know you will miss him...you already do, so when you get down just read some of these memorials and comments from people who knew him so well. They are a testament to the kind of man he was. He certainly made his mark on the lives of the people he touched, and in the end that is one of the greatest legacies any man can leave behind.
I love you and my sweet Christa and I pray for you today, tomorrow, and always...."we got this"

Love and God Bless the Woodward Family

I have the fondest memories of being in the Woodward home as a teenager. I am so glad I was given the opportunity to visit with Mr. Rex the night before he made his journey home. To all of the Children, Grandchildren and In-laws, I can honestly say that I know this pain you have right now as I have been through it with my Dad. Ms. Lorena, I know your heart is broken, I have seen my Mother go through this. Be strong in your faith, take God as your "husband" now, to be your provider, your caregiver and your protector. It is easy to loose Faith at a time like this and we all to often question "why". Everything is in God's plan - we have to give our all to him and trust him to see us through. Saturday will be a tough day, again, for everyone. I pray that God will wrap his arms around each of you, support you and give you the strength you need to get through this. Love you all,

I will miss him very much. I smile and laugh when I think of how the pain pill made him a little nutty. But I know that one day I will see him in heaven. He is going first to make sure the mansion is just right. Just lean on God he will hold you tight. I love you my buddy.
