Helen Smart Obituary

Anacortes - Helen Marjorie "Klassen" Smart 95, of Anacortes, passed away on Wednesday, 31 August 2022 after a short illness. Helen was born in a sod house on the family homestead on the South Fork of the Republican River in Vona, Colorado on 28 November 1926 to Cornelius and Emma Klassen; the seventh of eight children.

Surviving family: Sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Ruthann Smart and Doug and Lori Smart; daughters: Barbara Smart and Joanne and Dutch Overly; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Skagit County Senior Nutrition Program (Meals on Wheels) or the Anacortes Senior Center or the Anacortes Fire Department.

A Graveside Service will take place 11:00 AM on 1 October 2022 at the Fernhill Cemetery, in Anacortes, 7407 Fern Hill Cemetery Road; followed by a Celebration of Her Life at the Anacortes Senior Center, 1701 22nd St. If the weather is inclement, please meet the family at 12:30 at the Senior Center.
