John Emerson "Jack" Frey

1935 - 2017

John Emerson "Jack" Frey, 82, recently of Richmond, Virginia, and formerly of Potomac, Maryland, and St. Marys, died on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 23, 2017.
He was born Jan. 8, 1935 in St. Marys, a son of the late Albert and Julia Breindel Frey. 
On Aug. 23, 1962, he married Therese Olivas Frey, who survives, in Richmond, Virginia.
John was born and raised in St. Marys and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1953. He served two years in the U.S. Army, and attended St. Vincent College and the University of Pittsburgh, earning degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering. He then began his career with Page Communications. This allowed him to travel the world, where he met his beloved wife of 54 years. He lived most of his life in Potomac, Maryland, where he and his wife made their home with their family. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 3rd Degree Knight. His greatest love and passion was his family, and he greatly enjoyed researching his family genealogy.
He is survived by two sons, John Frey and his wife Patricia of Rockville, Maryland and George Frey and his wife Michelle of Pelham, New Hampshire; two daughters, Eliza Zeidman and her husband David of Windsor and Constance Fasca and her husband Theodore of Richmond, Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Brian, Kelly and Erin Frey, Colleen and John "Jack" Frey, Emily, Helen, Philip and Luke Zeidman, and Courtney and Anastasia Fasca; three sisters, Edna Crawford of St. Marys, Sr. Joachim, OSB, of Erie and Rita Frey of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Norbert Frey, Mark Frey, Joseph Frey and by Raymond Frey in infancy; and a sister, Mary Ann Gregory.
Funeral and Committal Services for John Emerson "Jack" Frey are being scheduled and will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
