Michael Chiodo

1959 - 2024

Michael Chiodo, age 65, of Bennetts Valley Hwy., Weedville, PA, died, unexpectedly, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Penn Highlands-DuBois. A son of Rosanna (Scanish) Chiodo of Weedville and the late Lawrence Chiodo, he was born on February 20, 1959 in St. Marys, PA.

Along with his mother, Mike is survived by: two brothers, David (Kim) Chiodo of St. Marys and Jeffrey (Jill) Chiodo of Weedville; and a niece and nephew, Jake and Keeley Chiodo.

Living all his life in Weedville, Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force. He graduated from St. Marys High School and received his Bachelors in Secondary Education from Penn State University. He worked as a Social Studies Teacher for DuBois Area Middle School for thirty years, retiring in 2013. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and, enjoyed trap shooting and playing softball. He was a member of the St. Marys Trap League and a member of the Bennetts Valley Rod & Gun Club of Penfield, where he had served many positions, including twenty years as President, and the past several years as Range Master. His enjoyment in volunteering with his community is evident by his many years volunteering for the Camp Mt. Run Youth Field Days, Bennetts Branch and Medix Run Stream Improvement Projects and many others. Mike was well known as a kind soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Public visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and also on Monday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA, with Father Mark Mastrian, celebrant.

Interment will be held in the Church Cemetery.
