Sarah O'Brien Obituary
Sarah Jane O'Brien (Sadie) of Sault Ste Marie passed away on October 28, 2016 after a brief illness at the age of 93. Born in Coleraine, Ireland on September 22, 1924. She came to United States as a war bride at the age of 20 when she married Frank O'Brien during the WWII era. A city girl in Ireland she became a farm girl in Michigan where she worked hard and was proud of her vegetables. She and Frank raised two children Frank and Colleen.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her Irish family. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Frank (Sandy) O'Brien of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Colleen Bowers of Sault Ste Marie. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Scott O'Brien of Gulf Breeze, Fl; Kristen Conwell (Craig) of Gulf Breeze, Fl; Eddie Bowers of Sault Ste Marie; and Sarah O'Brien of Austin, Tx. She enjoyed her great grandchildren Carly and Claire Conwell of Gulf Breeze, Fl.
Sadie was hard working, generous and loved her family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hovie Funeral Home with a viewing from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with funeral services immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made on Sadie's behalf to War Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
