Robert Cook Obituary

Robert E. Cook July 17, 1925 - Aug. 13, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Bob Cook, 89, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2014, in Apple Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by Dona, his wife of 60 years. Bob was born in Chicago, IL, and raised in South Bend, IN. Bob served in the Army in WW II, receiving the Purple Heart during his service. He obtained his Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Notre Dame University and was a lifelong Notre Dame football fan. In 1954, he moved his young family to Southern California where he worked in the aerospace industry until he retired. Bob is survived by his sister, Mary Flowers of South Bend, and his five children: John Cook and wife Connie, Jan Crozier, Jill Cook, Jim Cook and wife Tammy, and Julie Marshall and husband Glenn. Bob is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Bob will be interred with Dona at the Fort Snelling National Veterans Cemetery in St. Paul, MN, on August 22, 2014.
