Vickie Draper Obituary
Aug. 15, 1954 - Sept. 14, 2016
SOUTH BEND - South Bend --Vickie Lynn (Grenert) Draper, 62, passed away Wednesday, September 14 at home.
Vickie was born on August 15, 1954 in Niles Michigan. She was the daughter of the late James and Betty Alice (Lindsley) Hickey.
In January 1971, Vickie married her soul mate, the love of her life, James “Bruce” Draper Sr. He cherished, adored, and spoiled her until his last days.
Vickie enjoyed her work at Nyloncraft and was deeply saddened to leave her friends and coworkers to retire this past August after being there 28 years. Upon retiring, Vickie was spending time with grandchildren and catching up on her longtime hobbies of crocheting, meeting new friends at the park playing Pokémon Go and yelling “Bingo!”.
Surviving are her children, James (Tamara) Draper Jr. of Missouri, Katherine Draper of Madison, IA, Tanya (Dimas De Leon) Draper of South Bend, Scott (Ebony) Draper of Mishawaka and Angel Basch, and two that she raised as her own, Angela Turner and Jason (Katrina) Lopez. 14 grandchildren, Cassandra, Cristian, Mc Kenzie, Miko, Joey, Carlos, Marianna, Louis, Tasmyn, Isela, Maylina, Hailey, Nevaeh and Kadyn; 7 step grandchildren, Anthony “AJ.”, Breanna and Rayshon, Desirea, Corina, Cordae, Jaiden; three great grandchildren, Daniel “DC”, Kayleb and Blayke; her loving sister, Marie (Steve) Ingle of Niles, MI and two brothers, Robert (Roberta) and James Hickey Jr, She's also leaving behind her lifelong best friend and sister in law Debra Grenert.
Funeral services will be on Monday, at 1p.m., with visitation from 11a.m. to 1p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Cremation will take place after the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hahn Funeral Home to help the family offset the funeral expenses.
