Albert Nogler Obituary

Albert "Bert" Nogler passed away January 17, 2017, to be with his Lord. Bert was treasurer of Nogler Bros. which, with his father and two brothers, was established in 1954 with the capital of $6,800.00 that his dad had acquired from mortgaging his house. With much selling and hard work the family grew their food service business to a volume approaching 3 million dollars per year. Although the company was small in a field of giant competition the company thrived until 2006 when Bert retired and closed the doors. He served in the National Guards 26th Yankee Division for eight years. It was about the year 1984 that Berts spiritual life changed when he was invited to Fort Square Presbyterian Church in Quincy where he came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. At Fort Square Church he served as Deacon for 6 years, 4 years as Elder, many years as President of Adult Bible study, many years of leadership of the Alfa program, many years of serving on the Evangelism Committee, served 4 years as President of the Mission Committee and had been a leader of many other Bible Studies through the years. Bert also led the building of homes for Habitat for Humanity. He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Dolores "Dolly", his son Albert of Hanover, his daughter Jennifer of Boise, Idaho, his son David of Phoenix, Arizona and 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Although Bert was sorry to leave so many friends and loved ones he is now at peace with his Lord. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service at Fort Square Presbyterian Church, 16 Pleasant St., Quincy, Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial in Milton Cemetery. Not sure what to say?

Just learning of Bert's recent passing and want to express my condolences to the Dolly and the entire Nogler Family. Bert was one of my favorite golfers to caddie for back in the 1970's at Furnace Brook. He was a very talented golfer and the experience was always enjoyable. He would hit a few far off the aimed target from time to time and would then say to me....I am glad I am not paying you by the mile.
Really sorry to hear of his passing and as it turned out a good friend of his in my father, Bill McCarthy, passed away some two short weeks later after Bert.
May they both find peace in their new home in heaven.

Papa... There was noone else in this entire world like you... No one as loyal understanding loving honest strong persistant generous and caring as you. You were not just my grandfather you were one of my best friends. No matter where i was or how i was doing you always found me and made me know you loved me and always would. I cant forget the many times when i needed someone to cry to share good news or needed advise and you were the first one i call. Thank you so much for being my papa and who you were.. I know you are happy right now because you are doing what you always said you wanted eventually... You are getting your brand new body with jesus right now. P.s. Pnut asked where you were yesterday at your funeral and i said he is in heaven .. He said i want to go on the train to heaven with papa i miss papa... I told him one day he would see you.... We love you so much and always will

A wonderful soul, full of love, honor and faith, ascended to Heaven, away from us, and away from his suffering..
But death can never take a good man away, for in the hearts of those he inspired, his memory and legacy will remain forever.
We will miss you.

Love,
Al, Lisa, Ian and AllieRose

Dear Dolly and family,
Although we have been separated geographically now for many years Isabell and I have kept alive many fond memories of Bert. Bert was quick to share his spiritual journey, he knew where he had been and he knew where he was going. Our deepest sympathy to you Dolly and also to your family.
Love, Lloyd and Isabell.

Michael and I are thinking of Bert and the family with Love and prayers. He was a great friend (for a lifetime) to our family and especially a lifetime "mate" to my father Jim McNeice.. He made us laugh a lot, cry sometimes, and sing to feel good. I will continue to think of Bert and Dolly as intricate and loving characters in our lfamily life. My mother will always be greatful for his strength and support. The Angels will Kiss em and Hug em when he arrives!
Our Love,
Pat McNeice and Michael and Pam Campanale

They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard, but always near.
Still loved, still missed and very dear."
