Casimira Grubessi Obituary

Casimira (Matijevich) Grubessi passed away March 5, 2014, on her 89th birthday, her loving daughters at her side. Casimira was born and raised in Yugoslavia. The Grubessi family left after WW II to start a new life in Italy as refugees. She left Italy to relocate to Boston in 1956 and had resided in Dorchester since 1958. Casimira was employed as an electronic technician for Keystone Camera, KLH and Kloss Co., she retired in 1987. She was a talented seamstress who loved to make her own clothes and clothing for her family. She loved Nantasket Beach, trips to Italy, Plymouth, Provincetown and Castle Island. She was known for her Sunday dinners for her family and was branded as Comfort Kitchen Nonna." Beloved wife of the late Oscar S. Devoted mother of Lydia J. Healey of Dorchester, Diana M. Boudreau of North Quincy and the late Alida A. Grubessi. Cherished grandmother of Jimmy and his wife Ami and Scott Healey, Russ, Chris and his wife Rosanna, and Ron Boudreau and his wife Claire and 5 great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Casimir and Marijon Matijevich. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Monday morning at 10:30. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Sunday 2 to 6 p.m. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
