Edward J. Corrigan

Edward J. Corrigan, 84 years of age, entered Life Eternal at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was born at his home near Sunset Lake on November 16, 1928. He was a graduate for Braintree High School. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed for thirty six years by the Boston Gas Company prior to his retirement. He had formerly been active with the Steel Workers Union. Both he and his late wife Jean Corrigan enjoyed traveling. He was the husband of the late Jean A. (Fanara) Corrigan who died in November of 2011. Edward was the devoted father of Nancy Corrigan Vallande married to Robert Vallande of Cranston, R.I., Edward J. Corrigan Jr. of Weymouth and Robert F. Corrigan of Braintree. He was the loving grandfather of Michelle Corrigan of Weymouth, Robert T. Corrigan of Braintree, Shannon R. Vallande of Cranston, R.I., and Tyler James Corrigan of Carver. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren. Edward was the brother of the late Milton Corrigan, Robert Corrigan, James Corrigan, Thelma Corrigan McAfee and Betty Ann Corrigan Macri. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Tuesday, May 21, from 4 - 8 p.m. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Braintree Cemetery.
