I wanted to express my sincere sympathy to Don's family. I have known Don for many years and the first thing that comes to my mind when trying to describe him is that he was a "good man with a big heart". I'm sure that has been said about many men through the years, but Don was one of the few men I have known that truly gave that phrase meaning and truth. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, and I am proud to call myself one of them.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Was sad to hear this news. Met Don in 2002 running the pro cup series and the few times I helped him out were always a good time. Learned alot from him and had fun doing it. Thanks for letting a "northern boy" pit for ya.
Going to miss ya.

I made friends with Don many years ago when I worked at Laughlin Racing. I loved all the stories about the people he had met in racing. He was a great man and a true racer. One who raced by his own hard work & determination to do so. So glad I got to know him & so sorry for your loss. He will be missed.

Who knew that sitting in a drivers meeting next to Don, as he made a joke of getting off suspension, would be the start of a great friendship. Thanks Don, you will be missed.

Don Satterfield was my mentor, my fellow competitor, my coach and a great friend. Don taught me more than I can even remember about being a better racecar driver. He didn't look at me as "the Kid" he looked at me as a real driver. You will be missed Don thank you for the great years you were a part of my career and our family. We will miss you and there will be a #1 sticker on my car in every race in memory of a great friend. God has brought another great one home.

I will miss you Don and my prayers are with you Darlene and family. He was a special person. He didn't know a stranger on or off the track. Being his waitress at the Spring Garden Pancake house wasn't a job it was like a friend coming to visit. I will cherish are long talks, his wisdom, and most of all the way he treated my family and mostly my Daughter who looked up to him. She loved when Don called to say he was coming and had to eat breakfast with him. It's a sad day for all who knew him. Darlene you always had his back. you can google his pictures and you will always find her somewhere in it. Such a wonderful Love story!!!
