Joe Stephens Obituary
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Joe Lee Stephens, 36, passed away January 20, 2017.
A native of Spartanburg, son of Carol Brown Burgess and Bill Burgess of Spartanburg and the late Joe Wright Stephens, Jr., he was a welder for Bechtel Corporation and a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. He was a devoted father, beloved son, cherished brother, and valued friend. A man with great morals who loved life, Joe Lee had strong family beliefs, a hard work ethic, and was a great role model to many. With an infectious smile and a heart full of love and laughter, he had a great impact on those he came in contact with on his journey through life.
Also surviving are his former wife, Jacalyn Stephens of Spartanburg; a daughter, Jaelyn Marie Stephens; a brother, Chad Stephens of Spartanburg; twin sister, Cynthia White (Jason) of Spartanburg; a sister, Shana Stephens of Gaffney; paternal grandmother, Mattie Fowler of Enoree; grandfather, William Burgess of Anderson; step-mother, Donna Stephens of Gaffney; nieces, Savana Poole, Abigail White and Adilyn Atkins; a nephew, Braxton White; and a very dear friend, Heather Manus.
Joe was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, William Earl and Lee Ann Brown.
A celebration of his life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 28, 2017 at North Spartanburg Church of God, conducted by Bishop Larry Flippo and Rev. Timothy Hackett.
Visitation will be held 10:45-11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The family is at the home of his sister, Cynthia White.

Joe Lee, my loving twin brother, oh how I miss you! I still can't believe that God called you home! I can't even put into words the emptiness that is in my heart.
