Travis Bratton Obituary
INMAN, SC-- Mr. Travis Taran Bratton, 21, of 1117 Second Street, passed Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Spartanburg County. He was the son of Mr. Victor Miller and Ms. Diane Bratton of the home. He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and was currently employed at Adidas.
Survivors include two sisters, Ashley and Brittany Bratton of the home; one brother, Julius Bratton of the home; maternal grandparents, Robert and Hattie Bell Bratton of Spartanburg, SC; paternal grandparents, the late Mr. Ralph and Helen Miller; a niece Ja`nya Dogan; and a nephew, Travon Fowler of the home.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Travelers Rest Baptist Church. Pastor Leon Wright will officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Sheila Miller at 2145 New Cut Road., Spartanburg, SC.

Travis was such a wonderful student in my class. He was polite, mannerable and very intelligent. Family members,friends and loved ones, "look to the hills from whence cometh your help" because the God of the mountain is the same God in the Valley. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

What a truly good man God called home to him on 6/24. Though we all are filled with sorrow and pain, we must remember that Trap is not. He is looking down on us and though we cannot be with him physically, he is looking over us as our guardian angel. I will forever have our memories together etched in my heart. To all of Trap's family and friends, I wanted to let you know that even though I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him long, he made a lasting impression on me that will never fade. We both were regulars at the M,W,F pickup games at FBNS. Besides being a very good athlete and basketball player, I can tell you that never once did I hear anything vile or even negative come out of his mouth. You know, the scriptures say that out of the mouth flows the thoughts of the heart and I know God Himself had cleaned Trap's heart. This is all that really matters in this life, that we submit to Almighty God and let Him do His redemptive work on us and in us. I have a very strong feeling that Trap did just that. He gave his heart and life to the One True God. None of us is perfect, but we can experience the fullest life possible (John 10:10) on this planet when we submit to the perfect will of God. I'm very confident that Trap was experiencing that when the Lord called him home. I know you all are hurting badly right now, but we will rejoin Trap one day at the appointed time. I am so sorry about this tragedy. Even though Travis and I didn't see each other everyday, when we were around each other it was like a brother sister bond. He was so sweet and funny. May God and his angles be with all of you. Love everyone always.

I was sad to get a phone call from my son in Spartanburg on Thursday about Travis' passing away. I had the honor of teaching him Spanish at Boiling Springs High. He was a polite, kind, cooperative young man and helpful to me. His smile was contagious and I know God's kingdom is filling up with his angels and saints. I look forward to a reunion when I go see Jesus. Your comfort comes from God - let Him carry you through this tragedy.

I am keeping you all in my prayers.I didn't know Travis but,I knew some of his friends.They spoke very well of him.What A great guy he was and he would be missed very much.So, sad.I lost A nephew from A hit and run on his Harley 7 yrs. ago still unsloved .He was 26 yrs.old. God will get you thru it.
