Gary SLAGLE Obituary

In loving memory of my devoted husband of 54 years. Gary passed peacefully at his home in Wandermere Estates, Spokane, WA, while under the care of Hospice of Spokane. Cancer took him very quickly after being diagnosed in March. Survived by his wife, Alice J. Slagle; son, Aaron J. Slagle (wife Shelby) of Redmond, WA; brothers, Robert Frostad (Christy) Damascus, OR, Dan Frostad (Jenny) Gresham, OR, and David L. Schweitzer (Jan) Plano, TX; sisters, Dorothy L. Slagle of Kettle Falls, WA, Elaine Frostad Horton (Roger) Colville, WA, and Susan Frostad White (Mark) Port Angeles); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary was born in Colville, WA, on April 4, 1943, to Norman and Mildred (Moore) Frostad. Mildred (Midge) re-married in 1946 to Jefferson H. Slagle, thus becoming a member of the Slagle family. His parents, brother, Randy A. Slagle; and sister, Wendy Frostad, preceded him in death. Played all sports during his high school years. Gary enlisted in the Army in 1963 and was sent to Korea. His specialty training was in finance, which he continued to follow throughout his career. His son, Aaron, was born in 1973. In later years, he owned and operated his own auto dealership, Redmond Auto Center, Redmond, WA. Gary was a man of principle and demanded respect for others. His great "unique" sense of humor made him many close friends and good memories. He will be missed by all and remembered in our hearts. His last wish was not to have a formal funeral service but requested a "Celebration of Life" for family and friends. We will honor that wish in July. The date, time, and location are to be announced. His final resting place will be the VA Memorial Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA.
