Sheryl, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Ken was truly a one of a kind man. The two of you are angels. I remember when I chose to come back to Spokane and begin my journey the two of you had no hesitation on allowing me to stay in your home. You made sure I went to school and stayed on the straight and narrow. I thank you both so much for what you did for me. I recall trying to help one day and washing his coffee cup. Not realizing it is essential to have the build up of coffee in the cup. He didn't act mad at me but I knew he wasn't excited about what I had done. Just shows how dear he was. My condolences is going out to your family. Im just sorry I did not take the time to come by and personally thank the two of you for what you had done for me prior to a tragedy.

Ken and I before I moved back to California

Dear Sheryl and Burnnett family,
Kenny was my co-worker for eleven years at Caelus/RES Software. He was much more than a co-worker, he was a true friend. Because he and I shared the same birthday we also seemed to shared the same dry and sometimes warped sense of humor. He could make me laugh when no one else could. I think it was probably Ken who convinced me to ride the bus to work and when we moved to the new building on Jefferson, we rode the bus together to the Transit Station where we each caught our separate buses home. Oh the stories we could tell about some of those rides! When I moved to California in Dec. of 2009, Ken was the only friend from Spokane who kept in pretty regular contact with me through email. I will miss my birthday buddy and my very good friend. My condolences and sympathy to your whole family. Kenny was one of the truly great ones and he will be sorely missed. I'm sure that all the stray cats & dogs in the neighborhood will miss him, too! More than anyone I know, Kenny had such a soft spot for animals. (Oh! That reminds me of his frequent cricket-buying trips on the bus for his snake!) I wish that I could be in Spokane for Ken's service. Know that I will be there in heart and spirit. My love to all of you...
