Nola CAROLLO Obituary

CAROLLO, Nola Pauline
(Age 78)

Nola Pauline Carollo (Eastman) was born December 30, 1939 to Leonard and Tabitha in Waterloo, Iowa. She went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. There was no greater joy in Nola's life then spending time with her family and the anticipation of being with her grandchildren. Nola will be interred on April 27, 2018 at Holy Cross Cemetery with her baby daughter who was stillborn and buried on April 27, 1964.
Nola was a volunteer for many years at Lutheran Social Services in the rape crisis program. She ran an outreach program at Sacred Heart Church. She also was a volunteer advocate in the victim-witness program at the Spokane Prosecutors office. Those facing great challenges and trauma had a deep place in Nola's heart. She stood alongside men, women and children who were abused and reminded them that life can become so much better.
Nola suffered from blood related medical issues for the past 50 years. The past eight years she had been a dialysis patient under the amazing care of the downtown Davita Dialysis Center. A special thanks to her caregivers at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital and St. Joseph's Care Center.
Nola is survived by her caregiver and husband, James Carollo and three sons, Jim Jr. (Julie) of Peoria, AZ, Anthony (Debbie) and Jon (Colin Ormsby) of Spokane. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nick (Amanda) of Spokane, Rory Mickelson (Curtis) of Jacksonville, NC, Joe and Emily of Spokane and one great-grandson, Patrick of Spokane. She is also survived by her four sisters; Marlene Montilla (Joe), and Rose Ann Coburn of Modesto, CA, Beth Anderson of Santa Rosa, CA and Eva Leach (Gary) of Spokane and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3520 E. 18th, Ave, Spokane, WA, Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 am with a reception at the church immediately following. A private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery following the reception. Memorial contributions may be made to The Hope House Women's Shelter at 525 W. 2nd Avenue, Spokane, WA 99201. A beautiful obituary of Nola. It tells us of a beautiful woman God made her to be inside and out. The Proverbs Woman in action. Fred's and my condolences to the Corolla Family and to her sisters who knew her the best here on Earth. May your memories of her be tucked away in your hearts to be pulled out in times of grief and remember the lovely, the funny, and the great times you shared with her. I am sure there are many tucked away in your hearts. Knowing she has gone on be in the presence of our Precious Lord and Savior is a blessing. Lots of love from Fred and me, Eva, Marlene, Rose Ann, Beth.
