STONE, Rev. Richard Lee

Rev. R. L. Stone passed away in Yakima, WA on August 16, 2011 with his family at his side praising God while he transitioned into the Kingdom of God. He was born June 28, 1923, in Malden, Missouri. He moved to Spokane, WA in the late 40's. God sent him on a journey to Pastor to build Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Moses Lake, WA in the mid 70's then to Yakima, WA., to Pastor and build New Jerusalem Baptist Church in the late 80's. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Association and The National Baptist Association. He was also a lifetime member of the Masons. He was previously married to Lula Mae Stone (deceased), Eola Stone (deceased) and Cora Stone. He is survived by his daughters, Neda Singleton (Marietta, GA), Kathy Gardner (Moses Lake, WA), Olynda Kalia Stone (Spokane. WA), Ginnette Foster (Shreveport, LA), Stephanie Love (Tacoma, WA), Tameka Warren (Yakima, WA), sons, Leon Willis (Rockford, IL), Timothy Eugene Willis (Rockford, IL), Roy J. Harris Sr. (Tum Tum, WA), David Anderson (Spokane, WA), Alonzo Anderson (Bellevue, WA), Kenny Harris (Spokane, WA), Don Daniel Stone (Puyallup, WA), Lonnie Stone (Yakima, WA) and Joseph Thomas Stone (Spokane. WA), as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Minnie Gordon (Hayti, MO) and Ruth Gordon (Hayti, MO) and brother, James E. Stone (Hayti, MO).
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jannie Mae Harris and brothers William Stone, Rev. Philip Stone and Rev. Rufus Stone.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel, 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Yakima, WA.
