News Death Notice
SMITH, Nicholas Wade 25, of Springfield died suddenly Friday, August 31, 2012 at his home. He was born December 30, 1986 in Springfield the son of Edward W. and Becky (Bell) Smith. Nick was a 2005 graduate of Shawnee High School, where he was on the Wrestling Team. He had worked for several local businesses and was currently working for Rogers Electric Company as an Electrician's Apprentice. Nick had been a longtime active member of Central United Methodist Church, where he served on the Church Council and participated in the West Ohio Conference of United Methodist Churches. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America, Troop 1. People were attracted to Nick because of his wonderful smile and his obvious love for his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Toni Marie (Barnes) Smith and their three daughters, Kiley Marie, Paisley Skye and Lily Sunshine; one sister Samantha Smith, all of Springfield; other family and friends, too numerous to mention. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Nick's life will be Thursday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Julie Carmean officiating. Donations may be made in Nick's name for his children at Security National Bank. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com

Ed and Becky,
Our hearts are heavy and broken with you during this very sad time. Nick and Ryan went through school and played baseball together. Our faith allows us to look forward to the time we all will be reunited again. Please keep your hearts open to the signs from God that Nick is home with him now. We have been blessed with many of them over this past 6 years.

WOW I am still in shock!! Nik was a part of my house decor for years to the point I didn't even know he was here half the time...He was just part of the crowd... I am sorry that this has happened I hadn't seen Nik for a bit but I ran into him & Toni & he talked proud about his twins & his wife & other daughter. He did love his Girls!! He also talked proud about going back to school & becoming an electrician...So sad to see him gone but the one thing he did leave behind was that great smile.

You don't know me, but I lost my son 8-21-2011 at the age of 27. I understand your pain, and lean on your family and friends for love and support.
