Donald Bannister Obituary

DONALD P. BANNISTER, SR. a Stamford resident most of his life died Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Connecticut Hospice of Branford. He was 87.

Born Jan. 5, 1918 in Millwood, VA. He was the son of the late Robert and Lucy Carter Bannister and husband of Mabel Royster Bannister of Stamford, CT.

Mr. Bannister was a member of Greater Faith Tabernacle Church in Stamford. He was a police officer with the City of Stamford for 37 years.

In addition to his wife, other survivors include: a son, Donald Bannister, Jr., of Stamford, CT. Three grandchildren, Donald W. Bannister of Stratford, CT., Marc Soucy of Coventry, CT., and Kevin Soucy of Madison, CT. He was predeceased by a brother, David Bannister and three sisters, Willie Butler, Joann Bannister and Janie Bardliving.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 7:00 PM at Greater Faith Tabernacle Church, 29 Baxter Avenue, Stamford, CT. Burial will be private.

Downer Funeral Home, Inc., 31 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford is in charge of arrangements.
