Over 30 years ago, I had the honor of interviewing Mr Attanasio about his World War II experiences. This quiet, humble man, who experienced the horrors of the attacks on Pearl Harbor and Guam, epitomized the "The Greatest Generation". He served his country with distinction and then returned home to raise a family and help to build this community.
I feel privileged to have met him.
