Faith Markovich Obituary

Faith P. Markovich
Faith Patricia Markovich, 75, insightfully named "Faith" because she always had and lived it, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023 after a brief but powerful bout with cancer. She was the middle child of a brood of 13 born to the late Urban and Catherine (Gallant) Coughlin and a lifelong resident of Stamford.
She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all, especially those in need of a listening ear, a tender heart, or the last dollar she had at the bottom of her purse. Five called her "mom" because she was theirs, but many more called her that because they were family by choice. Dozens of children have grown into adulthood calling her "Meme" despite her having only four grandchildren of her own. She was always excited to hear about their successes.
She was a groundbreaker, becoming the first female state level leader of any fraternal organization in 2001. She spent many years devoting her time to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in many leadership capacities, spending the bulk of it organizing events to raise money for charitable organizations.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Loretta (Sissy) and MaryEllen, and brothers Thomas, Patrick, and Michael.
She leaves behind a family who loved her fiercely including her husband Joseph, daughter Tracy (Paul) Vodola, sons Tony (Christina) Fauci, Paul (Stacey) Markovich, Michael Fauci, and Adam Fauci, her cherished grandchildren Katie and Kelly Vodola and Xander and Jace Markovich, siblings Beverly Ogershok, Steve Coughlin (Diana), Kathy Stover (Walter), Reenie Marsden (Bob), Claire Comber, Bobby Coughlin, Susan Meagher (James); as well by so many nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored her wit and happy go lucky attitude.
Her family would like to thank the incredible staff at Stamford Hospital who cared so lovingly for her for much too long, as well as the dedication of her lifelong friend Bunny Sempey who provided the best support and humor in this worst of times.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to: the Bennett Cancer Center or to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #588 Diabetes Fund.
Faith's family will receive friends and relatives at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford on Thursday, September 7th from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 8th, at St. Mary's Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien.

She will be greatly missed by many. I met her through my sister Cindy Senft at the Eagles Club, when I first joined. My prayers go out to her family. May she R.I.P.
