Violet and Mabel Henriksen

We will never forget you, George, brother-in-law and uncle.
Your great personality and genuine interest in Norway and your family here were so appreciated.
Our thoughts go out to your family in these days of loss.
George, my brother-in-law:
All though we had some language problems, I always felt strongly connected to you.
You made me feel so welcome at your house, and I loved how you embraced and showed interest in what we could offer you on your visits to Norway.
I miss you,
Violet
Onkel George:
I will always remember our conversations. I loved to talk to you.
And I love how you – when I was a young girl, showed interest in what I had to say and made me feel important.
I’m sorry that we lived so far apart, and that I didn’t get to know you better.
You will always be in my memories.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the
stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

George was a real gentleman. He was one of my first mentors at Rayonier going back to 1970.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. I have the best memories of Uncle George. He always had great stories he would tell and great jokes too. I have fond memories of family gatherings in Connecticut. Uncle George was always so kind and thoughtful and when I think of him I always smile. I will miss him very much but I know that he is resting in peace now (and probably having a few laughs with my dad as well).
