Giuseppe Iorfino Obituary
Giuseppe Iorfino
Died in Bologna, Italy on Jan 28, 2017 with his family by his side. Born in Arena, Italy to Antonino and Rachele (Corbo) Iorfino. He is predeceased by both parents and his wife Mariantonia (Vartuli) Iorfino, and is survived by his sons Antonino (Simona) and Pasquale (Maria Pia). He served in the military in 1943, during WWII. In 1948 he joined the State Police force in Bologna, Italy where he lived for the remainder of his life. He served as Police Chief and retired as a Police Inspector. In his spare time he enjoyed working with wood, a family trade, and even at the age 93 he loved his computer, often using it to communicate with family across the world. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his brothers Pasquale and wife Caterina (Larobina) Iorfino of Arena, Domenico Iorfino of Stamford, Nicola Iorfino of Lidcombe, Australia, Raffaele and wife Immacolata (Vartuli) Iorfino of Stamford, Michele Iorfino of Arena. He is survived by his brother Michele and wife Rosa (Gerace) Iorfino of Stamford, his sister-in-law Olimpia Rosa (Corbo) Iorfino of Stamford, Caterina (Pisano) Iorfino of Lidcombe, Australia, and many nieces and nephews who respected and adored him. His family appreciates the service and friendship of his caretaker of 18 years, Angela. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and commitment to family. A memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12 noon.
