91, died Monday, November 24, 2008 in her home. Born August 21, 1917, in Portland Mills, PA, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Elva McCracken Hillyard. On February 9, 1946, in Covington, PA, she married Winford B. Tubbs, who predeceased her in 1982. A homemaker and lifelong area resident, she was a member of the West Pike Baptist Church. Surviving are: two sons, Stanley J. (Barbara) Tubbs of Dover, PA and Dale R. Tubbs of Ulysses; five daughters, Mary (Lloyd) Prouty of Ulysses, Charlene (Jerry) Earle of Brookings, SD, Carolyn (Stanley) Prouty of Ulysses, Eloise Hughes of Charleston, WV, and Rose (Timothy) Foust of Coudersport, PA; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband; she was predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Frost and Blanche Kshir; and a brother, Emerson Hillyard. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2008, in the West Pike Baptist Church. The Rev. John Prouty will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
