Jean Bacome Obituary
Age 81 of Elmira. She was born April 7, 1935, youngest child of the late Willie and Nina Benson and passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Delphine, Lunna, Laura, Thelma, Burl, Cleave, Lena, Anna, and Josie. Jean is survived by her children, Donna (Adon) Allen of Fayetteville, NY, Michelle (Brian) Mitchell, and Bruce Bacome, both of Elmira; grandchildren, Tiffani, Adon, Matthew, Jonathan, Ashley, Joshua, Jarrod, Marques, Mari, Lakhia, Bruce, and Aaron; along with her great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Lillian Allen, Penny, Nancy, and Chris. Jean was a member of Monumental Baptist Church. She retired from Founder's Pavilion and also worked at the A&P Plant for 17 years. Family and friends are invited to visit Monumental Baptist Church, 308 E. Clinton St., Elmira, on Friday September 2nd from 11 am to 1 pm. Jean's funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Minister Juhura Shazer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in Jean's memory to Monumental Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rupik, Dr. Riley, the staff of the Dialysis Unit at Arnot Ogden, as well as CareFirst, and the rehabilitation and skilled nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for all the care and comfort you provided to Jean.
