Ken, I really miss you sir. I have to tell you that I apologize for taking that Christmas tree which should have been yours. You told me the name of the song on the radio, No Myth and when I called you to ask about it I should have said to call the radio station and say those two words. I never did and I feel guilty about it.
I shouldn't have gotten angry when I did and I should have laughed some more. We should have sat around reading poetry.
I don't think The Beat Museum was around when you were here. I remember the last days in Napa and how you talked about the movie about John Lennon and Paul McCartney that was based on the last night the two spent together before John was shot. I think you may have been thinking about us, because the next day I left for Fresno.
A mistake.
But there is a tribute to Diane DiPrima in the city this coming weekend. I'm going to try and go.
I wish you could be there.
Rest in peace good sir.
May you enjoy all the Kenneth Rexroth poems in the world
