Ron Paugh Obituary

Paugh, Ron "RP"

Ron "RP" Paugh, 64, of Cocoa, FL, went to be with our Lord on July 18, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He was born November 4, 1951 in Elmira, NY. He is pre-deceased by his dad, Jack Paugh and sisters, Joann Paugh, Sandy Green and sister-in-law, Cathy Paugh. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jean, and their grandson, Shawn Morrell whom they have raised; son, Joe Paugh of Cocoa; granddaughter, Melanie Paugh of Deltona, FL; mother, Isabel Paugh of Corning, NY; brothers, David (Carol) Paugh of Ft Myers, FL and Jeff (Linda) Paugh of Elmira Heights, NY; sisters, Tina Paugh of Elmira Heights, NY and Penny (Ken) Piston of Brentwood, CA; "our adopted" daughter, Bobbie Jo Patrick and granddaughters, Allison and Crystina of Horseheads, NY; brothers-in-law, Jim (Pat) Thomas of Horseheads, NY and Greg (Carol) Thomas of Cayuta, NY; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and our God Son Ronnie Southard of Orlando, FL; lifelong friends, Don (Patti) Southard of Jupiter, FL; Ed (Cate) Patelunas of Horseheads, NY; Bob (Renie) Hooey of Big Flats, NY and so many other close friends throughout his life. Ron was manager of Chef Italia in Horseheads, NY for 12 years, worked in several factories and bars until starting at Schwans Food Service in 1993 until he passed. Ron loved his NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He loved to play sports as well as watch or listen to them all day. He loved to travel and cruise with his family and friends throughout the world, making new friends wherever he went. His love of family superseded all, as one family reunion would end he would start talking about next years, he was so looking forward to this year's reunion in Olean, NY but came up a couple of weeks short. On July 17th, Ron proudly celebrated his 28th anniversary of being clean and sober. We would like to thank all of the staff in PCU and ICU 3rd floor at Viera Hospital, who took such excellent care of Ron in his last days. Donations is lieu of flowers can be made payable to Cancer Care Centers Foundation at 7025 N. We just learned of Ron's passing. RIP our friend. It just doesn't seem possible he has gone to be with the Lord so suddenly. We were one of his customers in Palm Bay and felt especially close because of us being from north central PA and having made many trips to Elmira during my youthful years. Thinking of Ron brings a smile to my face and that is the best legacy there is to leave. We never met you Jean but know Ron was truly a great guy loved by many.

Very sad day in my house to hear that Ron is no longer with us. My family has known Ron for many years as the Schwan Guy. He has shown up on Wednesday nights around dinner time and filled the freezer with ice cream for all the kids on the street to eat. I always enjoyed talking to him about the Orlando Magic and daily happenings. Ron always had a smile and I will miss seeing him.

Was sad to hear of his passing. Ron was a great man and a good friend. He always had a kind word and he never met a stranger. I will miss seeing him at work trying to get me to spend a lot with Schwans. He was always "ohhhh, this is good, you'd love it" and of course I'd buy it. Then he'd laugh.
My condolences to the family and may he rest in peace.

Our entire family was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Ron's passing. He was not merely a vendor whom we welcomed to our home every other week, but a good friend as well. We will greatly miss his smiling face, his humor, his positive attitude, and our wonderful conversations. Our condolences and hearts go out to his family and many friends.

Ron was our Schwan's Man that came to visit with us every other Friday. Ron wasn't just a salesman,
he always took the time to visit with us, to see what we were doing and how we were. Even when it was apparent Ron wasn't feeling well, he always had a smile on his face and something nice to say. To Ron's family, we only had Ron a few minutes a month but you had him for 64 years, how lucky you are to of had such a nice person in your lives.
R.I.P. Ron, we'll miss you and never forget you.
