WILLIAM ENDRES Obituary

William E. 'Bill' Endres Livingston resident helped provide distance-education services to New Jersey schools, colleges and universities William E. "Bill" Endres of Livingston, N.J., passed away on June 9, 2015, at the age of 82. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at the Livingston Presbyterian Church, 271 West Northfield Rd., Livingston, N.J. 07039. Bill was born on March 8, 1933, in Englewood, N.J. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1955 with a business degree, and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was a captain/navigator with the Strategic Air Command. Bill's professional career spanned more than six decades. He served as a sales manager for General Bronze Corporation in Long Island, N.Y., before moving to Livingston and starting Tele-Measurements Inc. with his father-in-law, Jack Poppele. This venture began in the garage of his Livingston home in 1960, fabricating and marketing "Tele-Pat" illuminated test pattern devices for TV studio cameras. The business quickly expanded and grew from offices in New York, N.Y., to its current location in Clifton, N.J. As president and CEO of Tele-Measurements, Bill expanded the company's products and services to include the distance learning educational market. He took great pride in providing this technology to New Jersey schools, colleges, and universities. Bill was a lifetime member of the Radio Club of America, where he served as fellow and director. He was also a member of the Antique Wireless Association. Bill and his family were residents of Livingston for over 50 years. During this time, he was a member and Elder of the Livingston Presbyterian Church. Bill was an avid ocean fisherman and recreational boater. He spent many summers at the shore and enjoyed a summer home in Beach Haven, N.J., where he was a member of the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Karen, and his sister, Sue Tolle. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three children, William Christian and his wife, Christien, of Montville, N.J., David and his wife, Lisa, of Berkeley Heights, N.J., and Laura and her husband, Kris, of Wakefield, R.I.; and his six beloved grandchildren, Alyssa, Kelly, Heather and Jenna Endres, and Jack and Aubrey Erickson. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Colin of Boca Grande, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Karen Virginia Endres Memorial Garden at the Livingston Presbyterian Church.
