Harry Hollingsworth Obituary

BELLVILLE - Harry Hollingsworth, 71, passed away April 4, 2011, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
The Statesboro native had resided in Bellville for the past 45 years. He was a member and deacon of Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church. He worked for Starland Dairy as a milkman for many years, retired from Fort Stewart Commissary after 18 years and served on the Evans County Board of Education for six years.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna E. Lewis Hollingsworth.
Survivors: a daughter and son-in-law, Katina and Randy Riggs of Claxton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith Hollingsworth of Atlanta and Tony and Crystal Hollingsworth of Bellville; two brothers, Kermit Hollingsworth of Statesboro and Billy Hollingsworth of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Nellie Meeks of Statesboro; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 6, from 6 p.m. until at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
Funeral: Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Remembrances: Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Craig Lanier, 880 Bruner Circle, Metter, Ga., 30439.
Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

I knew Brother Harry for many years within the Prim. Baptist Church and attended services with him a number of times. He was my "friend" as he was to many others.
