Family-Placed Obituary

David B. Farrell David (Dave) B. Farrell died of a heart attack at age 51 in Las Vegas, Nev., December 19, 2004. Reared in Berkeley, Calif., and Urbana, Ill., Dave enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1974 and graduated first in his class at Fort Monmouth, N.J., as an electronics specialist. After serving for seven years in Panama and Italy, he was honorably discharged in 1981 as a Specialist E5. Later he managed fast-food businesses and drove taxi in Las Vegas. A whiz in mathematics and electronics, a lover of music and sports, and a first-rate writer, Dave was one who marched to his own drummer. He leaves to mourn his passing his father, Edmund J. Farrell, and step-mother, Jo Ann Farrell of Austin; his sons, Steven of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mark of Redding, Calif.; his half-brothers, Kevin of Carmel, Ind., and Sean of Austin; various aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends, foremost of whom is James Rousseau of Las Vegas. Dave was predeceased by his mother, Patricia J. Reed. A memorial service in his honor will be held at a later time. A donation in Dave's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. May he rest in peace
