Otis Nelle

W. Otis Nelle Otis "Popeye" Nelle, passed away on Friday, April 18th in Austin, Texas. Born in Manor, Texas, August 13, 1910, to Herbert C. and Jennie O. Nelle they lived on the farm until 1921 when the family moved to Austin. He was a graduate of Austin High School. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George and wife Lucile; sister, Antoinette Roebuck and husband Roland and brother, Gilbert. He is lovingly remembered by daughters, Jean Nelle of Austin, Betty Longwood and husband Ron; granddaughters, Kristine Longwood and Laura Omelanczuk and husband Marcos; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Natalia Omelanczuk all of Houston; and many nieces and nephews; as well as his side-kick and adopted family member, Robert Moore. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Austin, 9th and Trinity Sts., at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2008. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park next to Frances.
