Christine Ann "Chrissy" Weston

August 16, 1949 - June 21, 2016

SALEM - Chrissy passed away the first day of summer June 21, 2016. She died at home with her loving family at her side after battling the conditions of ALS for over the past two years. Her passing was peaceful and filled with the grace of God.

Chrissy was born to Nicholas and Pauline Frenchko in Passaic, New Jersey on August 16, 1949. She grew up in the heart of the city where she and her brother's took the place by storm. She took those street smarts and became a very successful business woman and accountant.

After her company moved her to Oregon, she and her husband met, married, had children, and purchased multiple business including the Camp Sherman Store, Hook Wine and Cheddar, Doughton Hardware, Daily's Market and Deli, and Mara's restaurant. During that time period, Chrissy began working for St. Joseph's Parish where she served others for a number of years.

While working at St. Joseph's, Chrissy took groups on pilgrimages to Rome, Siena, Florence, Assisi, Turkey, Poland, Egypt ,Israel, Paris, Ireland, Scotland, England, and she took over 300 students to World Youth Day in Rome to meet Pope John Paull II.

Chrissy's passions included a love of dancing (she became a Rockette) and fine Italian cuisine. This training resulted in countless recipes used and perfected at Mara's as well as her own cookbook.

Chrissy was preceded in death by her father Nicholas and her brother John. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Gary; daughter, Danielle and son-in-law Carlton Wise, and her two grandchildren Carson and Carly. She is also survived by daughter, Nicole Weston; mother, Pauline Frenchko; and brother, Daniel Frenchko; and many other extended family including her in-laws; sister and brother in laws; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held 10:00am Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Joseph's Parish in Salem Oregon. There will be a Celebration of Life and the reception that will immediately follow the mass. Chrissy will be laid to rest at Restlawn Cemetery at 3:00 pm Monday, following the Celebration of life. All services are open to the public.
