Corey Fred Obituary
June 11, 1977 - October 4, 2014
Corey, 37, was born in Salem and lived all of his life in the Aumsville/Stayton area, graduating from Cascade High School. Corey was a construction worker and followed in his father's footsteps working as a farrier. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, team roping, and especially spending time with his son and family. His son Wyatt was the joy of his life. Corey fell and sustained a head injury while hunting, due to a heart attack on his property Saturday morning. Corey is survived by his parents: Mick and Vickie Fred of Salem; grandparents: John and Jane Boss of Georgia; son: Wyatt Fred of Stayton; brother: Ryan Fred of Bend; Sisters: Lindsey Frankus of Molalla and Darcie Rabun of Salem. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00pm at Cascade High School Gymnasium in Turner.

Ten years since this great person passed away. Ten years worth of antics, smiles, and positive contributions to the world missing. Since Corey is and has been absent from this world, it is real hard to gauge what could have been...just saying, though, Corey you are greatly missed.

A year has passed and you are missed so much by so many! You and Ray have a great group of classmates that you graduated with. I received a special invite to join them for a very special toast to you and Ray at your 20th class reunion. As hard as it was, I managed to make it there without turning around and coming home. I sure am glad I went. It was amazing but Danielle made my eyes sweat.....lol. One more memory I will always hold near and dear to my heart.

My heart just breaks for all who knew Corey, he is so sorely missed. Corey was always fun to joke around with,a hard-worker and an amazing father. Most of all Corey gave our family's an amazing nephew, who will forever remind us of Corey's character.
Wyatt will never forget the countless moments of fun and love he received from his dad.
I believe Cory has left life as we know it... but he has not left Wyatt. Corey's spirit is forever alive in Wyatt. Wyatt is blessed to have so many family members & friends that will do there very best to help him and the family walk this path. We love you dear sweet Wyatt. May God give you peace and acceptance beyond your years. You should never forget that some day you will see daddy again but until then just know he is so very proud of you! <3

There are absolutely no words to describe Corey's irrepressible and natural contribution to and brightening of the lives of his family and numerous friends. I became blessed several years ago when I was introduced to Corey through another special friend. It goes without saying the black hole that now exists in the world. The world would be much different if we all emulated Corey's life. I pray for Corey and for the comfort of those who knew, loved, and were touched by Corey.

So sorry for your loss, Fred family. I went to middle school with Corey and remember him always making me laugh every single time I saw him. Corey's dad, Mick, was my one and only horse farrier throughout 4-H. I remember how kind he was to this day.

Corey bubbled our horses feet for years at my eldest daughter's request (now 13) starting when she was about Wyatt's current age. He made our family smile and laugh throughout the years. He will be missed so very much. Our family is thankful for him bringing joy into our lives. Prayers for his family! He loved his son so much! God bless!

I've never known a family that loved so deep and were so incredibly close. Corey was connected to my family in several ways, but mostly, I looked forward to his visits every 6-8 weeks when he came to trim my horses. He brought Wyatt recently. I'm praying every day for his family and his little mini me, Wyatt.. This community will be forever changed with the loss of this precious man. RIP sweetie~
