During his later years he served as a computer consultant at ARC Ventura County.

My uncle was an incredible man, who lived large and inspired many. I always enjoyed visiting my *many* cousins when I was growing up, and regret that I wasn't able to make it up for the memorial. I was mystified about his naval career ...and he was a big part of my decision to join the Navy and fly off of carriers. He commissioned me, and was also present at my Change of Command ceremony at NAS Point Mugu in 2000. I was extremely happy to have had the chance to have a good conversation with him just a few weeks before he passed away, at my sister Robbyn's wedding. Rest easy, Uncle Emil!

This past weekend was the hardest I have ever had to face in my entire life. I made it through with all the love and support of all those that were able to attend and those that couldn't still let us all know we were in their hearts and prayers. I would just like to thank all of you for loving my father and all of us that much. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed greatly. It was a privelege for me to be his daughter and will do my best to carry on the honor and respect of his family. We are all so proud of him. Peace is his now forever and I take comfort in knowing the Lord our God has a great man to keep the light shining. I love you Dad. I miss you. Rest now.

I wish to express my appreciation to everyone who attended my Dad's service or contacted the family with such wonderful and heartfelt memories. Everyone he met was considered a friend. Many were able to attend the service, while many others contacted the family in other ways. Your presence and stories will be forever treasured.
His strength, dedication and convictions were the foundation of the family. Those traits continue today with his children and grand-children.
He has gone to be with God but he will remain in our hearts forever. Peace and rest. We love and miss you: Tom, Lin, Mike, Jason and Shane.

I happened to make contact with Janet, after 18 years, the morning her dad passed away. I grew up with Janet and Sandra and the rest of the Beck clan in Oxnard. I was always at their house and Emil took care of me as if I was one of his children. Always nice, always helpful, always so happy. I was amazed at how well organized the household was with such a large family. He was a wonderful father and will be deeply missed. I have many fond memories of Emil with his children. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Beck family.

I just happened to be visiting my mother in Oxnard this past weekend and read the obituary of Emil Beck in the Ventura Star. My most heartfelt condolences to Mr. Beck's surviving family, especially my high-school friends; Barbara, Karen and David.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

We had the great pleasure of knowing Emil for many years, and found him to be amicable and very dedicated to his family and any task he undertook. We will forever cherish these many wonderful memories of our friendship. He will be missed.

I always enjoyed chatting with Emil and Buddy when I came to visit my mother, Ella Sieland, who lives just across the alley. I found Emil to be a very nice man -- affable, full of good humor, obviously a "good guy," a good husband to Bettina, a good dad, grand-dad, and great-granddad to his kids, and, of course, a loving dad to Buddy! I'm sure all of you will miss him a great deal. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
