Peters, George J. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, October 8, 2018. Beloved husband of Andrea Peters (nee Zipf); dear father of Christine and Joseph Peters (Melissa); dear grandfather of Emma and Sophia Peters. Dear brother of Norman, Bob (Mary Lou), the late Ollie Peters Jr. and Mary Weidemann; dear son of the late Ollie and Elsie Peters; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend to many. Mr. Peters retired from McDonnell-Douglas Corporation after 33 wonderful years and also later retired after 8 years with EDS/Unigraphics, a former division of MDC. He had two degrees in Electrical Engineering from St. Louis University, and one in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Washington University. His career included both technical and later senior management positions, completing his professional career as Vice President of Industry Services and later, Director of Aerospace at EDS/Unigraphics. He was a pioneer in the implementation of three-dimensional parametric mathematics in Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) activities and was an invited speaker at numerous Engineering Conferences; he also had technical papers in CAD/CAM published in various journals. He was a man of deep faith and very active in the parish that he so loved, St. Gabriel the Archangel, where he served on the school board, parish council, and RCIA program for many years. He was a board member of the Metropolitan Training Alliance and also Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at St. Louis Community College, where in his retirement, he fulfilled his long-standing wish to teach in the field that he loved and so inspired him. A Man for All Seasons, beloved by many. Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel 10151 Gravois, Saturday, Oct. 13, 9:30 a.m. to St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. George was truly one of a kind and had a unique way of making all his teammates feel valued and appreciated. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. Loved listening to George tell us stories from his career while he sipped on a Manhattan...the blizzard in Indy may be my favorite.. RIP my friend...
