Harriet or "Miss Overbeck" came into my life in September 1946 in Findlay High School. She was a great friend and teacher and coach in helping me learn how to be civilized human being and to be prepared for life outside our little rural community. Over the years, I have relied upon her for advice and commentary from time to time. We had the good fortune to have a good visit with her in April. We will always remember her.

Everyone has said so many true and
wonderful things about Miss O. Even in my 60's I could never call her Hat-
tie, because once she started being
my teacher, she was always my tea-
cher. Any time I come across an er-
ror in English grammar, I think,
"What would Miss O. say about that?" God bless her in his eternal
love!

I met Aunt Rudy when I married into her family. She always treated me like a daughter, and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know and love this wonderful lady. She was so down to earth and a source of comfort and guidance to everyone who had the good fortune to be a part of her life. She will be missed.

What a great lady - we at Findlay H.S. were very lucky to have such a wonderful teacher. Even though she couldn't come to our 50th H.S. reunion she sent a nice letter.

I had the privelege to visit Harriet at the hospital and even fed her some of the food they wanted her to eat and she didn't feel like it, but she did eat some and we had Prayer, which she appreciate so much. What a joy she was as a friend and teacher, she certainly will be missed.

I am just one of many students from Findlay HS who is a much better person because of Miss O. In both English and French, she filled our minds with a world of culture - and she did it with such grace. What a wonderful gift.

Miss "O": A wonderful, inspirational teacher who I will always remember as having perfect manners, perfect posture and who loved the song Starry, Starry Night by Don McLean. Thanks for dedicating your life to the young men and women of Findlay, IL. I will never forget you…..

We remember Miss Overbeck (I always called her Miss) and I especially remember a poem called "Trees" she has us read in her class.

Only a special angel could touch so many lives and make each a better person for having known Miss O. Though she had no biological children she had more "kids" than anyone I've ever known. I have no doubt God arranged for her to be a part of our community and to leave her mark on all of us So Long Miss
O. 'til we meet again, and Thanks for the Memries

Grandma Baker (or Miss O to the rest of you) blessed our family with love and understanding. She brought joy and love to my Grandfather (Alton), Father (Roger), and us Grandchildren (Mark, Lori, Troy, Mike). We will miss her, as she made such a big contribution to our lives. She never stopped teaching, and was always understanding.
We are all better people because of her influence in our lives. She will be missed, but, her influence in our lives will be celebrated and remembered

Our incomparable Miss "O" is gone. But her love remains just where she put it, in the hearts of all her children.
