Joseph Staebell Obituary

Staebell, Joseph age 56, of Dogtown, St. Louis, passed away on September 9, 2009. Beloved partner of Janis Jones of 28 years, brother of Robert Staebell (Agnes), uncle of Sarah and Lauren Staebell, and good friend to many. Joe was a prominent local cartoonist whose editorial cartoons were a mainstay of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for many years, and whose illustrations were published widely in area magazines. Services: A memorial service and gathering will be held on Saturday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Congregation Chai v'Shalom, 6327 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63139. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial gift to Congregation Chai v'Shalom and designate it for the Joe Staebell memorial fund. For more information, call 314-645-4456.
