Michelle Infanger Obituary

Infanger, Michelle Marie Barnes died October 15th in St. Luke's Hospital West, St. Louis, MO, from breast cancer. She was born 1953 in Lewiston, ID, to Dr. John and Elizabeth Barnes, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in Spokane, WA, in 1970; the University of Idaho in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts in French, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority, and Middlebury College, VT, with a Master of Arts in French in 1977. She married Peter Infanger in Lewiston on August 11, 1979. The couple met and lived in Washington, DC, before moving to Evanston, IL, then Cincinnati, OH, before settling in the St. Louis area in 1986. She was a staff reporter for the Cincinnati Suburban Press from 1983 to 1986 and a Special Correspondent for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from 1986 to 1987. She held Missouri secondary school and American Montessori certifications and had been a substitute teacher since 2000. She is survived by her husband Peter; two sons Michael (Amy), Chicago, IL, and Andrew, Milwaukee, WI; her older brother John F. Barnes Jr., Dove Canyon, CA; older sister Kay Ellen Bacharach, Fairfax, VA; younger sister Ann T. Barnes, Mount Prospect, IL, and seven nieces and eight nephews. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi parish in Ballwin, MO. Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Church 1:00 pm Saturday October 19, 2013; a brief reception will follow in the church (15642 Clayton Rd, Ellisville, MO 63011). A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 1:30 pm St Robert's Parish in Shorewood (Milwaukee), Wisconsin; a rosary at 1:00 pm and visitation at 11:30 am will precede. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michelle's name to St. Francis Seminary, Attn: Lisa Brielmaier, 3257 S. Lake Drive, St. Francis, WI 53235.
